The Arboretum Report September 17, 2017


Only a few hints of fall let you know it’s not still the height of summer. The tree foliage is fully out, and the native meadows are at their height. We see the Floodplain Meadow in the image above, viewed beneath the arching branches of the large catalpa tree.

In the front garden, we spotted a Monarch butterfly chrysalis, visible under a leaf just to the left of the flower in the second and third images.
